PROJECT: Farmworker Communities Confronting COVID-19

As part of a project with Farmworker Justice creating COVID-19 Public Service Announcements. Several audio and video PSAs in Spanish and Mixteco were created. Also a short film about what farmworkers were experiencing during the pandemic and best practices from organizations that work to improve the lives of farmworkers. The project was produced by Farmworker Justice and World Voice Media.

PROJECT: Nursing role models

As par of a 5 year grant from the National Institutes of Health, we worked with the National Association of Hispanic Nurses to increase awareness of the role that registered nurses play in health care.  The goal of the campaign is to increase the number of Hispanic nurses and resources for students interested in pursuing a career in health care. Using video and audio pieces we showcased positive role models in nursing. The project was produced by Hispanic Communications Network.

AARP’s weekly podcast The Perfect Scam 

The Perfect Scam profiles America’s biggest scam stories. Hosted by Julie Getz, an award-winning producer and director, and leading fraud expert and AARP Fraud Watch Network Ambassador Frank Abagnale, the series introduces listeners to compelling personal stories from scam victims and their families. Interviews with professional con artists and leading experts in the topic allow Julie and Frank to pull back the curtain on how scammers operate and share tips with listeners on how best to protect themselves.

PROJECT: Un Pasajero Muy Tragon / En Cuarentena

The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service was looking for a creative way to use existing elements and concepts to target rural residents in South Texas. We converted a comic novella into a short video using sound effects and talent to record the voices of the characters. Ximer Media produced a song that was turned into a jingle and recorded at La Fe Recording Studio. This was done as part of APHIS’s Plagas Hambrientas (Hungry Pests) Campaign.

PROJECT: Cultura de Salud (Culture of Health)

We produced a series of 5 public services announcements that introduced the theme Culture of Health to Spanish language radio listeners.  The idea was to discuss health in positive terms and look at options for busy households.  This was done as part of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation initiative with La Red Hispana to reach out to latinos that don't consume media in English.

Atras La Pared

PROJECT: Atras La pared (Working Title)

Atras La Pared (Through The Wall) is a documentary about fans of the Tijuana's soccer team Los Xolos from both sides of the border.  This project is currently looking for funding to complete production and launch.  Nopali Media serves a technical and creative advisor on the project being produced in Los Angeles, California and directed by Kyle Scobee.
